Dap-per is deployed across virtually all of Google’s systems,and has allowed the vast majority of our largest work-loads to be traced without need for any application-levelmodifications, and with no noticeable performance im-pact.

What is Dapper DAPI?

The Dapper “Depot API,” or DAPI, provides direct ac-cess to the distributed trace records in the regional Dap-per repositories (or “Depots”). The DAPI and the Dap-per trace repositories were designed in tandem, and theDAPI is meant to expose a clean and intuitive interfaceto the raw data contained within these Dapper reposito-ries.
